26 weeks and growing!

Happy July everyone!  Things are progressing nicely over here for our quickly growing family.  We had an appointment on Monday in which I got called a "boring patient".  What a great thing to hear!  Now in my 6th month, I have gained 10 pounds, which is not too bad at all. Hopefully that means it will be easier to lose this way!  Below is the 26 week pic, as you can see, I'm continuing to grow.  Plus, I just got a new haircut.  It's only an inch or so, so I'm sure it's not too noticeable.
I was rapidly growing out of all the maternity clothes I have, and the ones that do fit me are way too hot (made for colder weather), so I got to go shopping today!  It makes me feel SOOO much better to have some clothes that fit and that I can breathe in!  Here are a few of things I managed to find:

recognize the top from the pic above?  :) The jean shorts are really comfy, but the waist is such a "mom jean" waist - I'll never wear them without the super long maternity shirts covering the mom jean waist!

I never thought I would wear white pants, but this outfit is super cute and comfy!
these jeans are the best thing ever made - the top of them is called the "secret fit belly" and it is SOOO comfortable - the maternity jeans I had stopped right at the bellybutton and were cutting right into my stomach - these go all the up the stomach and I can breathe and move around, plus they are incredibly cute jeans!  They should make these for non maternity women, they are the most comfortable jeans ever!

In other news, this week is Josh's last week on the job, and it is both a blessing and a curse.  A blessing as this job was not what he expected (he likes to say he was more of an "audio butler" than an audio engineer) and now he can really pursue his freelance engineering.  A curse, because he wasn't planning on freelancing full time until after my maternity leave, and now we will be losing 6 months of his income we were counting on.  So things are somewhat up in the air for us right now, which is nothing we haven't dealt with before.

The baby has been kicking me as I write this, so I think he or she would like to say "Hello!"  The baby has been super active and even kicked Josh in the face the other day when he put his face next to my belly.  It was hilarious.

We also celebrated our third year of marriage last Wednesday.  We had a great meal at home and really enjoyed our last child free anniversary.  These three years have been wonderful and we can't wait to add our new family member to the mix to make the upcoming years even better!

Love to you all,

Sarah and Josh (and baby!)

Sorry it's late....

I'm a week late in posting!  I hope this does not become a pattern.  We have finally hit 24 weeks - this is the point at which if the baby was born it would have a 50% survival rate and they would do anything to save it.  Obviously, we want it to keep growing snug and sound in utero for a long while yet, but it's nice to know we have reached a point where the baby would be able to survive if something happened.  Yay for reaching viability!

Here's the 24 week shot:

I wish I had one of those cute round bellies, I really feel like mine is much more square.  It's round on the top and on the bottom, but still very flat where my bellybutton is.  Nope, it hasn't popped out yet, but Josh says that it's only a matter of time before the bellybutton pops out - then maybe I'll have a more rounded preggo belly.

We made our first baby purchase - a crib!  It transitions into a toddler bed, then a daybed, then a full size bed, so we're hoping to get some mileage out of it!  Here's a picture:
Our apartment renovations finally got started today and we're looking at a move in date of August 8.  Shelley is helping lots with the plans for furniture and designs so when we move in, we'll be all settled in our new place!  Thanks Shelley!

Otherwise, things are good.  I'm entering my 6th month, starting to get a little uncomfortable (this heat!) - but I've still only gained about 8 pounds - not too shabby.  Things are up in the air for Josh right now with work, so life will be interesting to say the least for the next few months. I'll update more when we know more about what's going on.

Enjoy summer - it's finally here!
