Officially Overdue!

Here we are at 40 weeks, 3 days.  I am on maternity leave and just waiting for this baby to come.  We've been getting lots of phone calls and well wishes - everyone keeps hoping the baby has come!  We have decided that this baby is either really lazy or we just need to learn patience.  Either way, this baby will be here soon!

Love to everyone, and hopefully the next post is the birth announcement, not another preggo belly pic!

Getting close!

Drumroll please....we are now at 38 weeks!!  The baby could come anytime, which is scary and exciting all at once!

At my 36 week appt, the cervix was starting to soften and thin, but there was no dialation yet.

At 37 weeks, I was 50% efffaced and 1 cm dialated.  the dr. said she was very happy I had made progress and that all the work my body does now is just less work I have to do during labor.

Thursday Josh and I noticed I could breathe and the baby is finally out of my ribs!  You know what that means, the baby has dropped and is now in position (happily it's the right position, the head is down).

Monday we will go for our 38 week appt.  and see if we have made any more progress.  It could happen any time now....we're so excited.

It's so cool to get these reports and watch my body do what it is supposed to do.  This really is a miracle and as odd as it is to go through it, it just feels so completely natural and right.

We are so excited to meet baby Gremer and can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by!  Hopefully the next post will be the one post Josh does on his own announcing our newest bundle of joy!

Love to all,

Sarah and Josh

We Moved!!! Oh, and the baby is ALMOST here!!

ok, here we have it........34 weeks!!  As you can see, the background is different, because we have now moved!
So much has happened since I last updated, so I will do a quick update in pictures.....

This is the view of the hallway from our bedroom, before we had a bedroom wall - this is about TWO WEEKS before we moved in - I was not happy in this pic as it was not looking the way it  should!!

This was our kitchen at that same time.  Now there is a dishwasher there and it looks great, but considering it should have been a LOT further along....not so much.

Of course at this point, I am realizing that you are going to want to see pics of the new apartment....we haven't taken any yet except for the babies room - we'll have to do that soon!

I uploaded all sorts of pics to the blog, and they are not in the order I want them to be, but I can't figure out how to actually move them, so we'll just talk about them in a really random order.  Bear with me!

This was taken at the baby shower - the balls in the air took SO LONG to do, and they turned out pretty great looking!  The shower was at the community center where I work and it was a GREAT day!!  It did rain, but I guess that's supposed to happen at a shower.

Random pic of Dusty, Dad and Shelley's puppy.  I love her, isn't she cute?  Note: that bear was supposed to be for the baby, but Dusty gave dad the puppy dog eyes and guess who's bear it is now?? :)

Josh and his sister's Sarah and Emma decided to take the shower decorations and use them to compare their pregnant bellies to mine - who wins?

Here it is - the babies room!  I love the safari theme and everything about it!!

Another angle - we put everyone's bets from the baby shower on the closet doors - if you want to add your guesses, just let us know!

Josh got this great pic of Aly's reaction to feeling the baby move

Dusty again, still cute.....

Preparing for the shower - this was at 32 weeks

This is the baby shower cake - isn't it amazing?  A friend from work made it for us and it tasted and looked delicious!

Sorry for the late update - things have gotten really busy here.  We're just trying to get ready for the baby and prepare for the big life change that is rapidly approaching - it's almost here!!

Love to all,

Sarah and Josh

Cannon Beach

We stayed about 4 miles South of Cannon in Arch cape, which has a much prettier beach and lots more sea life.

It was cold our first night, but we just had to get to the beach!!
This is one of many self taken portraits.......
I love how Josh and Jamie look so cute and innocent here, and there is Marci in the background, ready to party!
I did this A LOT during the vacation....

Shelley was the grand winner of many game nights (plus a little money!)

We played a little Wii Bowling (dad has a great kick he does at the end of every shot)

self portrait at sunset.....
This is the 27 week shot (note: I'm almost at 29 weeks now, new pic coming soon!)
And we finish with a beautiful sunset....We had a great time, played lots of games, drank a lot (well, I just looked at all the pretty drinks...), slept, relaxed...it was wonderful.  Can't wait for next year!

26 weeks and growing!

Happy July everyone!  Things are progressing nicely over here for our quickly growing family.  We had an appointment on Monday in which I got called a "boring patient".  What a great thing to hear!  Now in my 6th month, I have gained 10 pounds, which is not too bad at all. Hopefully that means it will be easier to lose this way!  Below is the 26 week pic, as you can see, I'm continuing to grow.  Plus, I just got a new haircut.  It's only an inch or so, so I'm sure it's not too noticeable.
I was rapidly growing out of all the maternity clothes I have, and the ones that do fit me are way too hot (made for colder weather), so I got to go shopping today!  It makes me feel SOOO much better to have some clothes that fit and that I can breathe in!  Here are a few of things I managed to find:

recognize the top from the pic above?  :) The jean shorts are really comfy, but the waist is such a "mom jean" waist - I'll never wear them without the super long maternity shirts covering the mom jean waist!

I never thought I would wear white pants, but this outfit is super cute and comfy!
these jeans are the best thing ever made - the top of them is called the "secret fit belly" and it is SOOO comfortable - the maternity jeans I had stopped right at the bellybutton and were cutting right into my stomach - these go all the up the stomach and I can breathe and move around, plus they are incredibly cute jeans!  They should make these for non maternity women, they are the most comfortable jeans ever!

In other news, this week is Josh's last week on the job, and it is both a blessing and a curse.  A blessing as this job was not what he expected (he likes to say he was more of an "audio butler" than an audio engineer) and now he can really pursue his freelance engineering.  A curse, because he wasn't planning on freelancing full time until after my maternity leave, and now we will be losing 6 months of his income we were counting on.  So things are somewhat up in the air for us right now, which is nothing we haven't dealt with before.

The baby has been kicking me as I write this, so I think he or she would like to say "Hello!"  The baby has been super active and even kicked Josh in the face the other day when he put his face next to my belly.  It was hilarious.

We also celebrated our third year of marriage last Wednesday.  We had a great meal at home and really enjoyed our last child free anniversary.  These three years have been wonderful and we can't wait to add our new family member to the mix to make the upcoming years even better!

Love to you all,

Sarah and Josh (and baby!)

Sorry it's late....

I'm a week late in posting!  I hope this does not become a pattern.  We have finally hit 24 weeks - this is the point at which if the baby was born it would have a 50% survival rate and they would do anything to save it.  Obviously, we want it to keep growing snug and sound in utero for a long while yet, but it's nice to know we have reached a point where the baby would be able to survive if something happened.  Yay for reaching viability!

Here's the 24 week shot:

I wish I had one of those cute round bellies, I really feel like mine is much more square.  It's round on the top and on the bottom, but still very flat where my bellybutton is.  Nope, it hasn't popped out yet, but Josh says that it's only a matter of time before the bellybutton pops out - then maybe I'll have a more rounded preggo belly.

We made our first baby purchase - a crib!  It transitions into a toddler bed, then a daybed, then a full size bed, so we're hoping to get some mileage out of it!  Here's a picture:
Our apartment renovations finally got started today and we're looking at a move in date of August 8.  Shelley is helping lots with the plans for furniture and designs so when we move in, we'll be all settled in our new place!  Thanks Shelley!

Otherwise, things are good.  I'm entering my 6th month, starting to get a little uncomfortable (this heat!) - but I've still only gained about 8 pounds - not too shabby.  Things are up in the air for Josh right now with work, so life will be interesting to say the least for the next few months. I'll update more when we know more about what's going on.

Enjoy summer - it's finally here!

21 weeks and almost summer!

It seems to me that we are doing a post about every two weeks as we watch the belly grow - and boy is it growing!  Here is our 21 week shot:
Things are going really great - after going into Babies R us a few weeks ago and running out scared out of our minds, we went back last weekend to register for some things.  I'm now starting to get really excited to meet this little thing growing inside me and I can't wait to use some of the things we've decided would be great for the baby.  I'll do a post later showing off all the stuff we like.

The baby has started moving around!  It's still very soft movements and only a few times a day, but they are movements!  It's fun to feel and experience, and Josh loves to try and catch it moving, but usually the baby stops right as he puts his hands on my belly - I think the baby thinks it's funny :)

This is finals week for our students, so as of Sunday at noon, I will not be an RD for the entire summer!  I'm super excited to move over and work for facilities this summer and see what that world is like.  I also get to help with the transition of two studio apartments into our new 2 bedroom apartment (anticipated move in - August 1), so I will enjoy being a part of that - Plus I like to control things, and this will help keep me happy.

Josh is venturing into the world of live sound - we just had a bunch of "gear" delivered yesterday so he can start his work going out and recording bands on the weekend.  You can ask him for details on the gear if you want...all I know is it makes him act like a kid in a candy store.   We're hoping this leads to some real opportunities for him.

Anyway, I guess that's as good an update as any.  Happy June-uary!  (It is way to cold to be JUNE! - summer needs to get here soon!)
