Sleep and poop

I think the title of this post says all it needs to: there are two things my life is now consumed with; sleep and poop.

The first is sleep. I never knew that it is possible to function each day when you have no idea how much sleep you got the night before aside from "not enough". This morning I finished feeding Noah, put him in the bassinet, and he started crying. Josh then turned to me and asked "are you ready to feed him?" this then started the ongoing (every 3rd night or so) discussion of I just fed him, no you didn't, yes I did, what time is it, are we sleeping, what has happenend to my mind, discussion.
Coffee has become my friend again. I don't think I could make it through a day at work without starting it with coffee - thank you to whoever figured out the magic of coffee, because it has become my best friend. So anyway, sleep, that which we don't get enough if and why my sentences in this blog are all weird. And gramatically incorrect (sorry english teacher parents!).

The second is poop. It's another thing my life revolves around. Ever heard the term "blowout"? Enough said on that topic.

I just hope that someday I will get to sleep for more than 3 hours at a time again. My functioning is getting slower by the day.

Enjoy the pic of our adorable son. His cuteness makes it all worth it. :)

4 months old!!

Noah is over four months old and we can't believe it!  We are headed to Canada this week and can't wait for a short vacation.  As much as we enjoy Noah and being a new family, balancing work and family have been a challenge.  Sarah has been at a national conference in Seattle all week and Josh has been preparing for the busy task of recording a new Seattle band.   At his four month checkup, the Dr. loved him, and he is very healthy and doing great!

On a personal note, we will be moving again in July!  Sarah has been offered the fantastic opportunity to work in family housing and we are all so excited about it!  Josh is mostly excited because he gets a BBQ, but we are all really excited because it offers Sarah some professional development and also affords our whole family a great opportunity to get to know other families.  We can't wait!

Overall, Things are great, Noah is great, and we are tired new parents!  Enjoy some of our pics above, since we can't figure out how to get them to show up below the post!!

Baby Noah is here!! Noah Giovanni Gremer, born October 28 - 7.76 oz, 19 inches long

Sorry for the delay in posting!  One week after his due date, my water broke in my doctor's office and 27.5 hours later, baby Noah was born!  He is perfect in every way and we are loving the new addition to our family!  When I have some time I will post the birth story and other details, but for now I'll just share some pictures with you....

Officially Overdue!

Here we are at 40 weeks, 3 days.  I am on maternity leave and just waiting for this baby to come.  We've been getting lots of phone calls and well wishes - everyone keeps hoping the baby has come!  We have decided that this baby is either really lazy or we just need to learn patience.  Either way, this baby will be here soon!

Love to everyone, and hopefully the next post is the birth announcement, not another preggo belly pic!

Getting close!

Drumroll please....we are now at 38 weeks!!  The baby could come anytime, which is scary and exciting all at once!

At my 36 week appt, the cervix was starting to soften and thin, but there was no dialation yet.

At 37 weeks, I was 50% efffaced and 1 cm dialated.  the dr. said she was very happy I had made progress and that all the work my body does now is just less work I have to do during labor.

Thursday Josh and I noticed I could breathe and the baby is finally out of my ribs!  You know what that means, the baby has dropped and is now in position (happily it's the right position, the head is down).

Monday we will go for our 38 week appt.  and see if we have made any more progress.  It could happen any time now....we're so excited.

It's so cool to get these reports and watch my body do what it is supposed to do.  This really is a miracle and as odd as it is to go through it, it just feels so completely natural and right.

We are so excited to meet baby Gremer and can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by!  Hopefully the next post will be the one post Josh does on his own announcing our newest bundle of joy!

Love to all,

Sarah and Josh

We Moved!!! Oh, and the baby is ALMOST here!!

ok, here we have it........34 weeks!!  As you can see, the background is different, because we have now moved!
So much has happened since I last updated, so I will do a quick update in pictures.....

This is the view of the hallway from our bedroom, before we had a bedroom wall - this is about TWO WEEKS before we moved in - I was not happy in this pic as it was not looking the way it  should!!

This was our kitchen at that same time.  Now there is a dishwasher there and it looks great, but considering it should have been a LOT further along....not so much.

Of course at this point, I am realizing that you are going to want to see pics of the new apartment....we haven't taken any yet except for the babies room - we'll have to do that soon!

I uploaded all sorts of pics to the blog, and they are not in the order I want them to be, but I can't figure out how to actually move them, so we'll just talk about them in a really random order.  Bear with me!

This was taken at the baby shower - the balls in the air took SO LONG to do, and they turned out pretty great looking!  The shower was at the community center where I work and it was a GREAT day!!  It did rain, but I guess that's supposed to happen at a shower.

Random pic of Dusty, Dad and Shelley's puppy.  I love her, isn't she cute?  Note: that bear was supposed to be for the baby, but Dusty gave dad the puppy dog eyes and guess who's bear it is now?? :)

Josh and his sister's Sarah and Emma decided to take the shower decorations and use them to compare their pregnant bellies to mine - who wins?

Here it is - the babies room!  I love the safari theme and everything about it!!

Another angle - we put everyone's bets from the baby shower on the closet doors - if you want to add your guesses, just let us know!

Josh got this great pic of Aly's reaction to feeling the baby move

Dusty again, still cute.....

Preparing for the shower - this was at 32 weeks

This is the baby shower cake - isn't it amazing?  A friend from work made it for us and it tasted and looked delicious!

Sorry for the late update - things have gotten really busy here.  We're just trying to get ready for the baby and prepare for the big life change that is rapidly approaching - it's almost here!!

Love to all,

Sarah and Josh
