15 months and 5 months...

So Noah is almost 15 months old!  I can't believe it!  I would post tons of pictures, but we lost our camera charger and just bought a new one, so once we have our camera charged up, we will be posting lots of new pics!  Noah is doing great!  He has lots of words/phrases (mama, dada, kitty, banana, night night, go, see, ball, book) and some others we are still working on identifying!  He walks everywhere and we have started to let him walk next to us, holding our hand, which makes us all feel so grown up!  He is still a very happy baby and very independent.  He is growing and learning everyday and we are enjoying being a part of his journey!

As for the rest of the post title, I am now 5 months pregnant!  Noah has no idea, of course, but we hope that soon he'll get to feel the baby move!  The baby is doing great - I've been more sick this time around - and have gotten my ever expanding baby bump much more quickly!  We are not going to find out the gender again just like last time - we'll know in June when he or she makes her first appearance!

We are excited and also a bit nervous about the prospect of two under two!  I know I have been horrible about updating this blog, but I'm really going to make more of an effort to keep everyone updated and informed!

Happy new year!  2010 is going to be an adventure!

Almost one year!

I can't believe Noah is almost a year old! The time has gone by so fast. here are a few things Noah is up to these days...

Can say Mama, Dada, and Bye Bye

Crawls very quickly, and loves to walk as fast as he can accross the walls and couches

Will sometimes stand on his own for a few seconds

Loves his sippy cup, and drinks from it like a champ!

Favorite foods: Hot dogs, bananas, avacadoes, shredded chicken, wheat teething cookies, puffs

Least favorite food: Cheerios - hates them!

Loves to wave bye by to everyone all the time whether they are leaving or not

claps his hands together

can give a "high five"

Loves to make funny noises by putting his hand over his mouth (like an indian war cry), he will also put your hand on his mouth if he feels that's a better option

He goes to bed around 6:30 and sleeps until around 5:30. He takes two naps a day, unless he doesn't feel like it.

His favorite toys are balloons, golf balls, anything that makes noise, anything with wheels he can push.

at playgroup, he is the quiet one, and plays independently very well.

He loves people and has a very sweet nature - he hardly ever cries when there are new people to see. He only really cries when he is tired or hungry.

He loves the bath and hates when bath time is over.

He loves his family and his smile is enough to melt anyone's heart.

It has been such a great first year, and he has been so wonderful to watch grow! We can't wait for our future with Noah and more amazing moments!
Love,
Sarah, Josh and Noah

Long overdue update!

I can't believe it has been so long since we have updated. Last time we posted, the main issues we were dealing with were sleep and poop. We have now narrowed it down to one main issue of sleep, and that is actually starting to get better! Noah has slept through the night a couple of times now and is finally figuring out how to self soothe! yay!

Here's some updates on Noah:
He is now 8 months old. He can crawl, sit himself up, and pull himself up to standing. He babbles lots of sounds, most frequently "Ba" "Ma" and "Ga". We don't think he has said a first word yet, but we're pretty sure it's going to be "Mama". He has become very attached to mommy and wants to be with mommy every second.

Noah is very curious. He doesn't want to miss anything. He came into this world with his eyes wide open, and doesn't ever want to close them (see the last post on his fight against sleep). He is a very friendly baby and will give strangers and friends his biggest and best smiles. He is a HUGE flirt and loves to be the center of attention. When he is not the center of attention, he can get a little cranky. He is very easy to take out in public as he is so busy watching everything and interacting with everyone, that he forgets to be cranky. He is really very content at all times except when it's time to go to bed - he is very vocal that bedtime is something he has NO INTEREST in. When he does sleep, he likes to be cuddled. He is a great cuddler.
He is still being breastfed, which has been great for both mommy and baby. He has started eating solids and really enjoys them. Noah loves to eat and is pretty indiscriminate. That's the only other time he gets mad - when there is no more food in the baby food jar! He has been diagnosed with allerigies to milk, soy, egg, peanut, and cashew. Mommy tries to eat these food on a limited basis to build up a tolerance. We will go to the Dr. again when he turns one for more testing, but for now, he can't have anything with those ingredients. We also recently let him on the grass for the first time, and he reacted pretty strongly, so we think he is also allergic to grass. We are trying to prepare for what this might mean as best as we can and keeping our fingers crossed that he will outgrow it.

We have really enjoyed these last 8 months and can't believe how fast it has all gone! We just moved into a new place and are adjusting to the new surroundings!

And we'll try to update more often!

Sleep and poop

I think the title of this post says all it needs to: there are two things my life is now consumed with; sleep and poop.

The first is sleep. I never knew that it is possible to function each day when you have no idea how much sleep you got the night before aside from "not enough". This morning I finished feeding Noah, put him in the bassinet, and he started crying. Josh then turned to me and asked "are you ready to feed him?" this then started the ongoing (every 3rd night or so) discussion of I just fed him, no you didn't, yes I did, what time is it, are we sleeping, what has happenend to my mind, discussion.
Coffee has become my friend again. I don't think I could make it through a day at work without starting it with coffee - thank you to whoever figured out the magic of coffee, because it has become my best friend. So anyway, sleep, that which we don't get enough if and why my sentences in this blog are all weird. And gramatically incorrect (sorry english teacher parents!).

The second is poop. It's another thing my life revolves around. Ever heard the term "blowout"? Enough said on that topic.

I just hope that someday I will get to sleep for more than 3 hours at a time again. My functioning is getting slower by the day.

Enjoy the pic of our adorable son. His cuteness makes it all worth it. :)

4 months old!!

Noah is over four months old and we can't believe it!  We are headed to Canada this week and can't wait for a short vacation.  As much as we enjoy Noah and being a new family, balancing work and family have been a challenge.  Sarah has been at a national conference in Seattle all week and Josh has been preparing for the busy task of recording a new Seattle band.   At his four month checkup, the Dr. loved him, and he is very healthy and doing great!

On a personal note, we will be moving again in July!  Sarah has been offered the fantastic opportunity to work in family housing and we are all so excited about it!  Josh is mostly excited because he gets a BBQ, but we are all really excited because it offers Sarah some professional development and also affords our whole family a great opportunity to get to know other families.  We can't wait!

Overall, Things are great, Noah is great, and we are tired new parents!  Enjoy some of our pics above, since we can't figure out how to get them to show up below the post!!

Baby Noah is here!! Noah Giovanni Gremer, born October 28 - 7.76 oz, 19 inches long

Sorry for the delay in posting!  One week after his due date, my water broke in my doctor's office and 27.5 hours later, baby Noah was born!  He is perfect in every way and we are loving the new addition to our family!  When I have some time I will post the birth story and other details, but for now I'll just share some pictures with you....
